Location-based alerts: an offer or message that pops when a visitor walks up to a point with the tour open.
LBS Alerts is its own drawer in the editor rail and works like every other menu: the point you have open is the subject. This point adds and edits the alert for that point. All alerts lists every alert in the tour; tap one to edit it, and the switch there shows or hides every zone on the map.
An alert is a zone on the map: a center and a radius. It starts on its point, and you can move it or resize it. When a visitor walking the tour steps inside the zone, the tour shows the alert as a chip and a card, with a sound and a buzz.
One limit worth knowing: a web page can only fire while the tour is open on the screen. A phone in a pocket, or a tour tab that is not showing, is asleep.
Open a point, open LBS Alerts, and tap Add an alert to this point. The zone lands on the point and its Directions button already points there. Drag the circle to move the zone, tap Move the zone by tapping the map to put it somewhere exact, or Put the zone back on the point. Esc cancels a placement.
The open alert is the bold circle on the map. Drag it to move the center. Pull its edge, or use the Radius slider, to size it from 25 to 300 feet. Show on map pans the map to the zone. Phones locate to within about 30 to 50 feet outdoors, so a circle under 75 feet behaves like 75 feet on the phone: the alert fires as soon as the phone reads inside it.
Pick Offer or Message. Write the title and the message the visitor reads. Add a photo if it helps: square works best, 1080 by 1080, the size of an Instagram post, and anything else is cropped to a square from the middle. An Offer can carry a promo code, shown large with a tap to copy. A button with a label and a web address is optional. Directions go to is the point the Directions button routes to, the alert's own point unless you change it: tap Change and search points and groups by name.
Leave the dates and times empty and the alert can fire any time. Set a date range for a sale, tap the day letters to switch days off, and set a time window for opening hours. How often per visitor is once per visit by default. A visit is one open of the tour: a visitor who walks in and out of the zone does not get it twice, and closing the tour and opening it again starts a new visit. Choose an hourly or daily limit for alerts that should come back, or Every time they pass for one that fires on every entry. Change anything on an alert and visitors who already had it get it again, which is also how you retest one on your own phone.
Network is off by default: the alert shows inside this tour only. Switch it on and the alert is also offered to anyone nearby using the StrollPoint app, whether or not they opened this tour.
